We cooked it steamed and it was fresh and tasty. Will repeat order.
Fish was cleaned and nicely packed.
I don't eat fish, but steamed it Teochew Style for my family, all were happy with the taste and texture, no fishy smell.
The fish was not very fresh...while the flesh was firm , the eyes and blood were brownish in colour, and it did smell a bit fishy
First time ordering. I like to cook my fish fresh so I ordered on the same day I'm cooking. Delivery was delayed by almost an hour (several emails ding dongs to finally get an update on delivery) and with missing items (promptly refunded!).
Promfret still reasonably fresh upon arrival though not sure if it could have been better if on time. Steamed the promfret teochew style and it tastes excellent. 5 stars!
Ordered for the second time, will review again for the consistency.
I’ve bought white pomfret from Dishthefish a number of times now since 2 years or so ago. Initially the fish was always fresh. However, the last few times I had bought it within these couple of months, the fish was always not very fresh. There was no change in my method of storage/preparation or the ingredients used. Yet the fish always smells fishy now when I remove it from the vacuum pack, and tastes fishy after steaming (even after marination with rice wine).. submitting this review to share my experience for others’ awareness, as I had tried to feedback privately via email but did not receive any reply..
